Abstract painting by Tancredi (1927 - 1964). This abstract work was acquired from the collection of Raffaele Ravaioli. Provenance: artist | Raffaele Ravaioli. Mr. Ravaioli\'s interest and work in the arts, fashion, and design led him to befriend Peggy Guggenheim in the early 1950\'s, who recommended that he purchase the Tancredi pieces. Tancredi participated in an abstract Italian art exhibition at the Galleria Nazionale d\'Arte Moderna in Rome in 1951, and met Peggy Guggenheim when he moved to Venice the same year. Peggy gave Tancredi (and Jackson Pollack) studio space and exhibited his work in her palazzo. Tancredi was awarded the Graziano Prize for painting in Venice in 1952.
